At the Wisconsin Rapids Downtown Farmers Market we believe that everyone should have access to shop at our market, no matter how they pay.
At our Farmers Market Information booth you can swipe your FoodShare (SNAP/EBT) card and/or credit/debit card in exchange for tokens to spend with vendors.
FoodShare program participants can get double the fruits and vegetables with our $20 matching program, every market day of the season.
NOTE: All of our farmers market vendors accept cash as payment for their items.

At the information booth we also will take your Aspirus Fruit and Vegetable Prescription Program vouchers to exchange for tokens and select vendors will take your WIC or Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program checks.
Frequently Asked Questions about our information booth programs:
Question: Do the tokens expire?
Answer: No, the tokens do not expire; you can use them throughout the season. We do encourage you to spend them before the end of the market season so they don’t get lost and so we can balance our accounting, but if you have some left you can bring them the following spring and spend them with vendors.
Question: What can I buy with my SNAP and Double Dollars tokens?
Answer: You can purchase SNAP-eligible items with SNAP tokens, including: Bread, Bakery, Eggs, Dairy Products, Meat, Fruits and Vegetables, Canned Goods, Food Producing Plants and Seeds. You can purchase Fruits and Vegetables with your double dollars matching program tokens, whole or cut fresh fruits and vegetables with no added sugar, spices, or salt. You can purchase fruits and vegetables only with fruit and vegetable prescription tokens. See this resource for more information on what you can buy.
Question: What can I buy with my Credit/Debit card tokens?
Answer: You can purchase anything with your Credit/debit card tokens; they are used just like cash at the market. A minimal transaction fee of $1 does apply for all credit/debit card swipes.
Question: Can I use my tokens at other farmers markets?
Answer: All tokens received at the Wisconsin Rapids Downtown Farmers Market must be spent at the market except for Fruit and Vegetable prescription program tokens, which can be used at any participating farmers market in our area. See this website for more locations in your area.
Question: Where do I get my WIC or Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) checks?
Answer: WIC checks are distributed at the Wood County Health Department and sometimes directly at the market. Contact the WIC office for more information. Senior checks are distributed at the Wood County Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC). Go to this webpage for more details for senior checks.
Question: How is your double dollars matching program funded?
Answer: Our double dollars program is funded through double up WI, community grants, and sponsors. If you’d like to make a tax-deductible donation to our program that supports families on FoodShare and local farmers in our area, contact our market manager, Mai Thao, at mai.thao@woodcountywi.gov.
